AIA LUs

WHAT ARE AIA LUS?

Learning Unit (LU) is used by American Institute of Architects ‘s Continuing Education Systems (AIA/CES) and is based on a 60-minute hour.

HOW MANY AIA LUS DO I NEED?

AIA members are required to complete 18 hours of continuing education annually, and 12 of those hours must be health, safety, and welfare (HSW) education.

HOW DO I EARN AIA LUS?

According to AIA, “Continuing education credits can be earned in a number of ways. Members can take courses from approved AIA providers in a variety of learning formats: face to face, online, etc. Members can self-report activities for general LU’s from courses take from non AIA providers and from independent research activities.” For more information about earning AIA education credits, visit: https://stag.gbrionline.org/5-ways-to-earn-your-leed-aia-ce-hours-without-breaking-your-bank/

HOW DO I REPORT MY LUS?

You can self-report your LUs from your AIA transcript, to receive HSW credit for a course we need to report the credits for you. To have us automatically report your CE hours please make sure you have updated your reporting information here.

ARE ALL OF YOUR COURSES APPROVED BY AIA?

Our audio-visual courses are approved by GBCI & AIA. We also have flipbooks (articles) which need to be self-reported for CE credit. We will provide you with all the details needed to successfully self-report these credits.
